SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “The First Step” Edition

Good Thursday to you Steelers’ Fans!

Training Camp for 2018 is officially underway. Keep up to date with all of the goings on in our Training Camp Tidbits.

The Steelers re-signed Eli Rogers yesterday which may be a sign of a couple of things. First, he will start the season on the PUP or physically unable to perform list. He went down late in the year with an ACL tear so this isn’t as surprising as the fact they’ve actually brought him back. That leads me to my next point. It makes me think they are not overly thrilled with the other options they had for a slot receiver. I really think Markus Tucker can make this roster but if they’re willing to wait for Rogers to be ready? I could be very wrong.

Tweet of the Day… This very unfortunate but certainly a choice he feels he needs to make.

What a horrible break for Sam Beal. He’s the kid from Western Michigan who was drafted in the recent Supplemental Draft by the New York Giants. The G-Men spent a third rounder on him and now he’s expected to miss the season with a shoulder injury.

Maurkice Pouncey yesterday said, “If you can’t run eight 100s you don’t deserve to make the roster.” That’s unusual to hear an offensive lineman say that. As it turns out, Pouncey, Cam Heyward and Ramon Foster were excused from the test. More on this in Training Camp Tidbits.

Check out Cnic’s 53-Man Roster Projection for the Steelers. Agree? Disagree? Leave him a comment.

Five Steelers’ who need to step it up in 2018 from Cnic.

As I mentioned yesterday in Training Camp Tidbits, the Steelers will announce the next class for their Hall of Honor this Saturday at St. Vincent College.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
