SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Salty Ben” Edition

Happy Thursday Steelers’ Fans. Let’s go!

If you weren’t sure about whether Ben Roethlisberger was tired of talking about his worst game as a professional quarterback then you probably missed him talking yesterday. “You guys are more panicked than we are,” he said. He’s probably right to be honest but I liked his salty attitude. Maybe getting him a little pissed off is a good thing.

Something to keep in mind heading into the Kansas City game is that the Chiefs have the 29th ranked defense in the NFL.

Something else to consider too… Last year in the AFC Divisional Playoffs the Steelers were 0 for 4 in the Red Zone.

Top defensive player of last year’s AFC Playoff game versus the Chiefs? James Harrison who had six tackles, a sack and garnered a monstrous holding call as well. Am I suggesting Harrison needs time on the field this year? Damn right I am.

Tweet of the Day #1… Le’Veon Bell has some new music.

Tweet of the Day #2… My response to his new music.

While it is way too early to claim who has control of the AFC in terms of Home-Field Advantage, this week’s game will go a long way towards deciding it. The Chiefs already own a win over New England and are two games up on them anyway. A win over the Steelers would give them a similar lead as well. The AFC West is the toughest division in the AFC so I’m not counting any chickens before they are hatched but this point bears watching.

I’m a little concerned with Sean Davis this season. I’m just not seeing the jump I thought he would have in year two. He overruns plays or takes poor angles way too much for my liking. Hope he can become a factor sooner rather than later.

Glad to see Marcus Gilbert back. He expects to play this week and with the Chiefs’ slew of pass rushers his presence is huge in my opinion!

Have a great Thursday Steeler Nation!
