TGIF Steelers’ Fans!

As I’ve been alluding to on Twitter, I’m very excited to announce our new addition to the already fine crew of misfits here at SCB. Many of you know Ian McMeans much better by his handle on Twitter @thesteelersnat (Steelers n’at) and I am very glad he’s going to be writing and contributing for us. Not only does he write well but he covers a lot of topics extensively which leads me to the next ‘new addition.’

SCB will continue to bring you pragmatic and honest opinions on the Steelers but we will now offer Ian’s love and passion for Western Pennsylvania High School Football and for Pitt as well.

Over the next few days we will be changing the look and style of the site not only to accommodate our new additions but to also give you a better and more visually stimulating experience when you come to SCB. Our goal is not to be the biggest site or the one that puts out the most information. We will continue to strive for quality and originality as always.

In case you missed the Steel City Blitz Podcast Presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh last night here it is for your listening pleasure!

Tweet of the Day… More wise words from Vince Williams.

While training videos of James Harrison and Antonio Brown are extremely impressive, don’t sleep on the ones of Demarcus Ayres. This young man clearly knows he’s fighting for a roster spot with so many receivers in camp.

As we broke down on the podcast last night, if Le’Veon Bell were franchise tagged two years in a row he would earn roughly $27 million based on projections for next season’s number. Have to say, that’s nothing to sneeze at. That said, I’m sure Bell and his agent would prefer the security of a long-term deal with a hefty signing bonus.

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for the start of camp. This dead period is the worst!!

Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!
