SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Moving Along” Edition

Good Wednesday to you Steeler Nation!

I wish I could tell you that the name ‘Le’Veon Bell’ will not appear today but it will. Not to the extent it did yesterday but it’s definitely making some appearances. Outside of that, it is definitely time to move along because that’s what is necessary here. There’s no use getting upset any longer. What’s done is done and it’s time to talk more Steelers!

Yesterday on “The Jim Rome Show” Robert Klemko from MMQB and Sports Illustrated said he thinks the relationship between Le’Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers might be fractured to the point where 2018 is Bell’s last season in the Steel City. Here’s the audio.

Klemko has become pretty well-connected and he very well may be right but I don’t personally see how it won’t be his last season in Pittsburgh simply based on how much he’s already turned down. As always, Rome is a terrific interviewer.

Tweet of the Day… It’s officially official. Sure hope the Madden Curse is wrong this year.

The Madden Curse may indeed be superstition but it has a pretty impressive track record. If you aren’t familiar, players that are featured on the cover often spend the season dealing with injuries or miss the majority of the season in general. Troy Polamalu missed most of the season in which he appeared on the cover. Since then, I’ve advocated for no Steelers on the cover!!

According to several outlets, former Pitt star Darrelle Revis is retiring. Rumored to be coming to the Steelers in recent years, his abilities diminished over the last few years. Nevertheless he’s headed for the Hall of Fame.

Former number one pick of the Steelers in 1983 Gabe Rivera has passed away. He was an All-American Defensive Lineman at Texas Tech but was paralyzed in a drunk driving accident before his career ever took off. He will long be remembered too as the guy Chuck Noll took instead of hometown favorite Dan Marino.

Make sure you stay up to date with our ‘Training Camp Previews.” We are cranking them out each day until the Steelers report on the 25th!

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
