SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “JuJu’s Millions” Edition

Good Thursday to you Steelers’ Fans!

Steelers’ wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was asked yesterday if he played the lottery given its’ massive jackpot. He told reporters he spent $120 and did so in hopes of bringing Le’Veon Bell back to the team if won millions. If I overanalyzed this, I would ask James Conner how he felt about JuJu’s gesture. After all, it does seem like a slight doesn’t it? But rather than dwell on that what we should do is just enjoy the ride with JuJu. Digging too deep on every little thing with this team is part of why some of us go insane!

Speaking of Bell, his agent Adisi Bakari tweeted out an article from “The Undefeated” in which he goes into great detail about what he wants his clients to value.

I came away feeling bad for Bell. Bakari is putting his own personal agenda ahead of these guys despite the fact he would claim the opposite. Bell has now given back over $6 million to the Steelers and for what? To dig his heels in and continue to say “I’m worth more?” His prime years are being wasted and I don’t think his agent is doing him any favors.

THE Tweet of the Day… Merrill Hoge’s book and comments are worth our time.

Watched the Browns-Bucs game yesterday on the All-22. Nick Chubb is a difficult guy to tackle. He’s low to the ground and keeps those legs churning. Steelers will need to tackle well. Their left tackle is struggling and so is former Steeler Chris Hubbard who looked a lot better last season. I see no reason why Bud Dupree and T.J. Watt can’t get some sacks on Sunday. Don’t sleep on Baker Mayfield. He fits the ball into some tight windows and can make all of the necessary throws. He’s loose with the football when he scrambles though and I can see the ball on the ground if that continues.

Ben Roethlisberger’s declaration yesterday that it’s OK for me to cry is accurate. This team brings me to tears all the time! (See what I did there?)

We’ll be recording the Steel City Blitz Steelers Podcast 101 tonight!!

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
