SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Good vs Evil” Edition

by Steeldad

Good Morning Steelers’ Fans! Hope you’ve caught up on that sleep from Sunday night.

Several people yesterday, who aren’t even Steelers’ fans, mentioned to me that New England has become the “Evil Empire” of the NFL. Bill Belichick is the Emporer and Tom Brady is his apprentice. I laughed but it really is fitting. The Pats have become one of America’s most hated teams and while there are many that hate the Steelers, people see us as the last hope. In essence, it really is a battle of ‘Good vs. Evil.’

Yes, Antonio Brown should have used better judgment but this story really is not that big of a deal. Here are my thoughts on it.

Mike Tomlin Presser today at NOON ET on steelers.com and ROOT SPORTS.

Danny Smith and his Special Teams’ unit got the job done Sunday and should be commended. The Patriots do not have Tyreek Hill but they will not make mistakes and Smith has to match them play for play.

If Bill Belichick follows his usual defensive gameplan, he’ll look to take away the Steelers’ best player. That would have to be Le’Veon Bell based on his performance over the last several weeks and if it is, does that leave Antonio Brown to have a big game? We shall see but personally I can’t see Bell being shut down. Limited a bit? Sure but Houston handled the Pats up front and I believe we can too.

Tweet of the Day… Magic chimes in!

I didn’t know a whole lot about Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end other than watching him as a player. I did learn recently he had a reality show and after watching him Sunday night and then hearing his comments afterwards, I find him to be cry baby and hypocrite. Based on his behavior (his whining and shove of Ross Cockrell) I’ve determined his actions probably aren’t getting enough attention.

So if Ladarius Green is cleared this week do you play him? Food for thought.

Can’t say enough about Vince Williams. Ya, he may say some crazy stuff on social media occasionally but every successful team has a guy just like him. Runs through brick walls on special teams and is one of your most reliable back-ups. The former sixth-round pick has made a nice living for himself with the Steelers.

Would love to see some play-action pass this Sunday. Just sayin’.

I won’t watch much ESPN or NFL Network this week. Can’t stand the Patriots’ lovefest. Besides, anything I need to learn I’ll get from much closer to home.

Have a great Tuesday Steeler Nation!
