Good Tuesday to you Steelers’ Fans!
It’s not often I get to mention the Supreme Court of the United States in this spot but that’s what I’m doing today. That’s because they decided that an early ’90’s federal law prohibiting states (other than Nevada) from gambling on sports was unconstitutional. What this means is that some states like New Jersey could start taking bets as soon as two weeks. Other states like Pennsylvania could be up and running in a matter of months. As of right now, placing bets from your phone won’t be allowed but that’s likely coming. In the easiest sense what this means is that you’ll be able to bet on the Steelers or any other NFL game by going into a brick and mortar facility. If that’s something you enjoy doing then get ready, it’s going to be coming and it is going to bring in a ton of money for professional sports.
Did you check out Cnic’s “Way too early 53-man roster projection” for the Steelers? He’s thinking outside the box which I always like but Mason Rudolph starting over Ben Roethlisberger??? I’m kidding. That’s what I do people, I kid.
Tweet of the Day… I thought this was interesting. Delaware???

Steelers’ minority owner Steve Tepper appears to be the front runner for ownership of the Carolina Panthers. He would join former minority owner Jimmy Haslem (Cleveland) as owner of his own franchise.
Comparisons in football are as inevitable as an official blowing a call and I for one try to stay away from them as much as possible. Already, people are trying to suggest that Mason Rudolph or Terrell Edmunds is “like this guy” or “like that guy.” How about we let them be themselves and get on the actual field first? It isn’t fair to compare them to anyone when they haven’t played a single down in the NFL. That’s just my approach anyway…
Way too early prediction: Call me crazy but I think Jaylen Samuels has a real opportunity to be a contributor in 2018. He’s incredibly raw in many areas but he’s a hard worker and the coaching he’s going to get will make him an even better player. Look for him on special teams to start but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a few snaps on offense as the season goes on.
Have a great Tuesday Steeler Nation!
