SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for November 7th, 2014

by Steeldad

Not a good morning to be a Bengals’ fan now is it?

-The Steelers will practice today from 1-3pm Eastern.

-Injury Report for today… Full participants are Heyward, Miller, Mitchell, Pouncey and Worilds… Limited today will be Taylor and Ventrone… Not practicing are Keisel, Thomas, Polamalu, Shazier. Only Keisel is “non-injury related.”

-I’ll be blunt here; if the Steelers come out with their multiple tight end and fullback sets then I expect a slow start. I will always believe that you keep doing what is successful until someone proves they can stop you. In the last two weeks, the Colts and Ravens have not stopped the Steelers when they are in attack mode.

-Of the Steelers six touchdowns on Sunday night, five of them were with 3 wide receivers, Heath Miller and Le’Veon Bell. Three out of those five the Steelers were in five-wide or motioned to it. The final TD featured two tight ends and a fullback.

-I have to believe the thumping that Cincinnati took last night says as much about off the field as on. Something just isn’t right in Cincy at the moment and if they fail to make the playoffs Marvin Lewis will be out.

-Did you catch Andy Dalton’s line from last night? 10/33 86 yards 3 INTS, sacked twice and a rating of 2.0. The pressure will mount big time this week on him.

-Congrats to Big Ben for winning AFC Offensive Player of the Week two weeks straight!

-Keep an eye on those special teams for the Steelers this week. Kickoff returns for TDs are uncalled for.

-Look for my “Three-Point Stance” preview coming up this weekend.
