SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for November 12th, 2014

Happy Hump Day Steelers’ Fans. Much like today, we need to get over the Jets’ game and that goes for me too.

-The Steelers will practice today from 115-315pm Eastern.

-Injury News: Ryan Shazier and Troy Polamalu are both out for Monday night’s game. Steve McLendon re-injured his shoulder and right now is 50/50. His status will depend on what he can do this week. Ike Taylor wants to play but has not received medical clearance yet.

-If Dri Archer is no longer returning kicks and he’s going to be used for one or two snaps per game then I have to ask, why bother making him active each week?

-Is it just me or were the Steelers three first half sacks on Sunday about as invisible as any sacks could be?

-Ben Roethlisberger became just the ninth player in NFL history to reach 3,000 completions with the same team. He is also only one of five active QBs to reach that number.

-Biggest concern I have with the Titans is tight end Delanie Walker. If you haven’t realized it by now, the Steelers struggle to cover tight ends and Walker is athletic and more than capable. Walker was forced to leave Sunday’s game in Baltimore with a concussion so this is something to keep an eye on.

Offensively

-Tennessee ranks 31st in total offense, 27th in passing and 24th in rushing.

-Pittsburgh ranks 1st in total offense, 2nd in passing and 9th in rushing.

Defensively

-Tennessee ranks 19th in total defense, 28th against the run and 11th against the pass.

-Pittsburgh ranks 24th in total defense, 2oth against the run and 22nd against the pass.

-Conclusion: Get ready for heavy doses of the running game.

Titans rookie Bishop Sankey seeking his first breakout game. Lots hope this isn’t it.

-On Ben’s weekly radio appearance on 93.7, he said that Justin Bieber’s visit was not the reason the team lost. Let me take this a step further; I don’t know who asked him about it, but they should be forced to see every Bieber concert for eternity. How freaking stupid.
