Your move Ravens! The Steelers held serve with a 27-20 win over Buffalo on Sunday. Now the Baltimore Ravens need a win in New England tonight to move to 8-5 a stay atop the AFC North with Pittsburgh.
Last thing I want to do is take away anything from the outstanding performance of Le’Veon Bell but there was one really important guy missing for the Bills yesterday. Defensive lineman Kyle Williams was out and he’s a key cog for that defense in terms of stopping the run.
I’ll go back and look today but it appeared Buffalo took a page from the Ravens’ defensive playbook and played a ton of zone coverage. That doesn’t excuse some of Ben Roethlisberger’s throws, but it does suggest why he was off a bit.
Can’t say enough about the job on offense and on special teams by Roosevelt Nix.
I say it every week but I’m so impressed with the development of Artie Burns and Sean Davis. Little was expected of Burns this season but he’s been better every week. Davis is a difference-maker. Yes, he could have played the touchdown to Sammy Watkins better but that doesn’t take away the impact he makes.
Was it just me or was the Steelers’ defense faster than ever?
I think we’ve seen the last of the Ryan brothers. Rex may land another defensive coordinator job somewhere but his days as a head coach in the NFL are over. Brother Rob has to be out of chances as well.
Tweet of the Day… One HofF’er and a future one.

I’m not wasting any time on the Giants’ assertion about the Steelers using deflated balls last week.
Did I mention that no one won ‘Nail the Number’ this Sunday? $2,300 this week!!
B.J. Finney could be starting for many teams in this league right now. I love Ramon Foster but Finney is on his heels big time. He pulled a couple of times and looked incredibly athletic in doing so.
Loved the hustle of Bud Dupree. Talk about a guy who is glad to be back on the field…
Ben’s worst pick was the one where the defender made arguably the best play. The way I saw it, Big Ben didn’t think that Zack Brown had a prayer of dropping back after biting on the play-action. The pass should have been thrown much higher and deeper but it was a great play by Brown nevertheless.
If you grow up in a climate that has snow in the winter, the Steelers’ game yesterday is exactly what you picture when you go and play as a kid.
Pro Football Focus grades are ridiculous. First of all, how can you have a grade on a guy immediately after a game when you have no idea of what his assignment was on each play? Furthermore, the All-22 isn’t available either so again, take PFF with a tremendous grain of salt.
Oh, they had Le’Veon Bell, who had almost 300 yards in offense, at a 78.
It’s Bengals’ Week!!!!
Enjoy the day Steeler Nation!
