SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Merry Christmas” Edition

by Steeldad

TGIF Steelers’ Fans!

Perhaps more importantly, Merry Christmas Steeler Nation! As much as I’ve struggled this week with the loss to New England, the further I get from it the more I have tried to find some levity. The season is not over and there is still much to play for no matter how painful last week remains for us. Take some time for yourself to keep things in perspective remember what the important things are.

Unfortunately I am having a hard time letting go of last week’s game in a number of ways and this recently released photo does nothing to help me. Kudos to independent photographer Brian Kunst for the shots.

Sure looks like James’ hand is underneath the ball here doesn’t it? Perhaps the bigger issue I have in all of this is why a guy sitting in New York should have the authority to overrule an official “on the field” who is seeing the same thing. Make no mistake about this; the NFL LOVES this controversy. It puts them at the top of the sports’ news and in many cases the top of the regular news. They are in no hurry to ever get this right and we all need to accept it.

Injury Report courtesy steelers.com… Antonio Brown (calf) and Ramon Foster (concussion) did not participate. Joe Haden (fibula), Vance McDonald (shoulder) and Tyler Matakevich (shoulder) were full participants.

I think it’s a good bet you’ll see Martavis Bryant and JuJu Smith-Schuster all over the formation on Monday. With AB out, Todd Haley will more than likely look to maximize opportunities for each guy while involving Eli Rogers, Jesse James and hopefully Vance McDonald.

Huge thank yous to Tamara and Carole for their donations to SCB in recent days. If you’d like to consider giving please click the link. These donations help us cover the cost of hosting fees, podcast hosting etc.

I’ll have the Three-Point Stance (our game preview) out this weekend with the Steelers playing on Monday.

For all of us at SCB, please have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! I’m off (from my “real” job) for two weeks but nothing will change here at the site!! Have a great day Steeler Nation!

Merry Christmas to all you guys at SCB. I re-watched the last quarter and thought why are you torturing yourself Then when the play came i was like holy $hit that’s a catch. Big Ben is the leader of this team and he needs to be more composed. We still have as much talent as anyone else and expectations should remain high.
