SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “How’s That Shoulder?” Edition

Happy Hump Day Steelers’ Fans!

Rookie James Conner was off to an excellent start before he injured his shoulder towards the end of the team’s first day in pads. When he later appeared in a sling, it didn’t look good. But after a trip to UPMC in Pittsburgh it appears that Conner’s shoulder is not seriously injured. Keep in mind that doesn’t mean he won’t be out for an extended period of time and with that in mind the Steelers brought in Brandon Radcliff for a workout. He is nothing more than a body at this point so don’t think about it any deeper than that.

The team announced yesterday there will be a Hall of Honor where former players, front office personnel and coaches will be honored. “The Hall of Honor will serve as a tribute to the many individuals who have contributed greatly throughout the history of our franchise,” Steelers President Art Rooney II said. “This is probably long overdue, and we are excited to begin the process of recognizing these individuals and their accomplishments, both on and off the field, during an annual series of ceremonies.” (quote courtesy steelers.com)

I mentioned yesterday about how Jets’ rookie Jamal Adams was destroyed after he said he’d “die on the field.” Again, if you watch the interview, he’s clearly talking about his passion for the game. The wife of former Steeler Justin Strzelczyk was one who took Adams to task and like many, she is missing his point. Strzelczyk was a tackle for the Steelers from 1990 through 1998 and died at the age of 36. He was one of the first former players that had CTE discussed about him despite the fact he may have suffered from other mental disorders as well. While I sympathize with his widow this is not what Adams was talking about. Not even close in fact and he doesn’t deserve the negative attention he’s getting.

Tweet of the Day… AB added another to his growing family.

Do not think for a second that there aren’t several people on the team and inside the organization who aren’t pissed about Le’Veon Bell skipping camp. The fact he continues to put himself out on social media while his teammates are at camp is bad enough in my opinion but I think it goes deeper. They see a great shot at a Super Bowl and him not being there with them in disheartening.

In case you forgot, the Steelers are back at practice today in Latrobe at 255pm Eastern.

The Steel City Blitz Podcast presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh will air tonight at 10pm Eastern with Tay, Ian and mysel. Join us!

Senquez Golson watched the morning walk-thru today and reportedly told people he will not need surgery (h/t Simon Chester). I wish I felt better about his long-term chances.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
