SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for May 31st 2015

Welcome to the final day of May. For me, it’s one more day closer to summer vacation and another month closer to the start of football season!

Tweet of the day and it’s a tear-jerker from Cam Heyward.

The Steelers inked rookie seventh round draft choice Gerod Holliman this weekend to his first contract. He’s the final draft pick to sign.

Isn’t it amazing how smoothly things are with rookies now with salary slotting? The days of rookies not signing until the hours before training camp began are over.

You may have seen comments from former Steelers’ receiver Lance Moore who now plays in Detroit. He said he “didn’t want to be in Pittsburgh anymore.” I certainly can’t blame him but I also don’t know that anyone will miss him either.

Neal Coolong of the Steelers Wire at USA Today reported that the Steelers sell more jerseys than any team in the league except the Packers.

Several news stories this week about Jarvis Jones still not being 100% with his wrist. One story I read said the Steelers made a mistake bringing him back when they did and I couldn’t disagree more. If he feels ready and the doctors say he’s ready then you get him on the field. Period.

The Tribune-Review’s Mark Kaboly had this great story about Daniel McCullers. If this young man continues to improve then his selection becomes an absolute steal.

There are 101 days left until the Steelers visit New England on September 10th.

Go Steelers!
