We are 106 days away from the Steelers opening at New England on Thursday September 10th.
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and I hope you took time to remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation. To this day the only Non-Steeler I have a hanging in my basement is Pat Tillman. I encourage you to read the books from his mother, his widow and the great Jon Krakauer.
Steelers’ center Maurkice Pouncey told steelers.com writer Teresa Varley that the offensive line “did a good job blocking last year.” I don’t disagree, but I also believe there’s a lot of room for improvement. I still think Mike Munchak and Mike Tomlin would like to find a replacement for Ramon Foster at left guard. He was a liability in pass protection last season. Either way, they must take the step from “good” to “great.”
Phase three of the Steelers’ Organized Team Activities gets underway today at the team’s Southside facility. Steelers.com has you covered today through Thursday at 9:50am.

The Chicago Bears released Ray McDonald just hours after he was arrested on domestic violence charges. This is the same guy who had similar problems in San Francisco. Releasing him was the correct move. I doubt he’ll play in the NFL ever again.
The NFL announced this weekend that Roger Goodell would not be excusing himself from the appeal of Tom Brady’s four-game suspension. Seems to me that as close as Goodell is with the Patriots that Brady would want him hearing the appeal. Either way, I expect it to be reduced to two games.
Chris had a great feature this past week on the Steelers’ Sammie Coates. Make sure you check it out here… Chris on Sammie Coates. Carlos had a solid piece on the State of the Steelers Linebacking Corps as well.
Have a great week, Go Steelers!
