SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 12/11/15

by Steeldad

The Steelers will practice today from 1045-1230pm.

Latest Injury News: PIT: All players participated in Thursday practice. Heath Miller (ribs) and Matt Spaeth (knee) were limited… CIN: George Iloka (groin) and Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones (foot) Did Not Participate.

In their first meeting, the Steelers and Bengals had nearly identical stats when it came time of possession and penalties. That was indication of just how close the Bengals’ 16-10 win over Pittsburgh was. Each team had 10 penalties and I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume they’ll be clsoe to that again with so much angst heading into this game.

I’m very excited to tell you about something you can find only at steelers.com. If you haven’t tried out their ‘DeskSite’ then you don’t know what you’re missing. Basically, this is a personalized video platform that gives you “all things Steelers.” Some of the benefits include no buffering, customization and proactive notification. It eliminates the need to ‘search’ for content and provides it all right there for you. Here’s a brief glimpse (below) at what it would look like on your computer. Check it out right here!

Tweet of the Day… from a holiday-loving DeAngelo Williams.

With all of the “bad blood” from the first meeting, the two best choices to get 15-yard personal foul penalties are Cody Wallace and Mike Mitchell. Just sayin’.

I’m still scratching my head over Mark Kaboly’s interview with Steelers’ Secondary Coach Carnell Lake. It was just a few weeks ago that Lake said in order for Brandon Boykin to see the field on defense “someone would have to be really bad.” Apparently Lake didn’t see what the vast majority of us saw in that Antwon Blake had been pretty bad. Not just in the Seattle game either. Lake also said he wasn’t into ‘knee-jerk reactions’ in terms of switching players. Switching out a guy after one or two weeks might be considered ‘knee-jerk.’ After 12 weeks? What in the hell was Lake watching?

I’m curious to see the number of Steelers’ fans in Paul Brown Stadium Sunday. Normally it’s “Heinz Field West” but with the Bengals having a great season perhaps their fans will actually hold on to their tickets.

Have a great weekend Steelers Nation!
