SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 11/10/15

by Steeldad

As is the usual case, the Steelers are off today and will resume practice tomorrow.

Head Coach Mike Tomlin will have his weekly presser today at Noon on steelers.com.

As it is right now, Ben Roethlisberger is likely out 2-3 weeks with his foot sprain. I’ll be honest; if Landry Jones can get the win Sunday against the Browns I’d sit Roethlisberger when the team heads to Seattle unless he really is ready to go. Of all the games remaining, it’s the least important since it isn’t a conference game.

[Update: Ben Roethlisberger told 93.7 The Fan today that he isn’t ruling out playing on Sunday. Mike Tomlin said the “door is ajar” in terms of his playing. stay tuned.]

Tweet of the Day… I post this because I want you to see just how awful people can be. Kudos to Bell for de-escalating.

That was actually the nicer of the two tweets Bell had to deal with…

Lawrence Timmons needs a break. I applaud the fact that he doesn’t come off the field during games but I think he gets gassed especially late in games. He struggles to cover receivers as it is and it only gets worse the more tired he is.

Good stuff here from the Trib’s Chris Adamski on Landry Jones’ throws in the game Sunday. It’s been an issue with Jones since coming into the league. First read or nothing….

Lots of talk this week about Steelers’ CB Antwon Blake. Are the splash plays worth all of the poor coverage skills? Or maybe, is he just one of Tomlin’s guys who won’t be pulled of the field regardless of what he does? Discuss.

Talk around SCB is that Stephon Tuitt was still feeling the effects of being out a few games. He seemed to be just a step slow on many plays and the lack of pressure from he and Cam Heyward was obvious.

Cleveland ranks 27th in total offense and 29th in total defense. Landry Jones, Mike Vick or Dennis Dixon for crying out loud should be able to get a win on Sunday.

Have a great day Steelers Nation!
