SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 10/15/15

by Steeldad

The Steelers hit the practice field today from 1pm-3pm Eastern.

The big news from yesterday’s practice was that Ben Roethlisberger participated in 7-on-7 drills with the scout team. Antonio Brown was asked about how Big Ben looked and admitted “it was great to see him back and he looked good but still isn’t there yet.” Even though Roethlisberger wants to play against his former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, it’s unlikely and the right move in my opinion.

Other Injury Notes from Wednesday: Limited Participants beside Big Ben were Cortez Allen and Ryan Shazier. Not Practicing were Will Allen, Jarvis Jones and Doug Legursky.

If Mike Tomlin sticks to his usual mantra then Ryan Shazier better practice fully the next two days or he will miss a fourth straight game. That will only increase the screams that he’s injury-prone. [Update:] ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Shazier is unlikely to play Sunday.

Tweet of the Day needs no explanation.

Antonio Brown took some heat yesterday for comments he made about struggling without Ben Roethlisberger in the lineup. While I’d prefer he said nothing, I also understand his frustration. He was asked, he answered. Simple as that.

Former Steelers’ linebacker Adrian Robinson took his own life at the age of 25 earlier this year. It was revealed that he did in fact suffer from CTE which is a common brain injury found in players after they’ve passed away.

One thing I’m really curious about is why Mike Tomlin gave Ben Roethlisberger a game ball after Monday night’s win. If it had something to do with Roethlisberger suggesting the winning play then why did Tomlin deflect that when asked in his presser Tuesday?

Thank goodness for 1pm starts. Returning for the next five weeks in a row.

Have a great Thursday Steelers Nation!

Goodell and his NFL cronies are a joke! Two faced, double standard, and just a bunch of downright clowns!
