SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 10/14/15

by Steeldad

The Steelers practice today from 115pm to 315pm Eastern.

News from the injury front: Will Allen left Monday night’s game with an ankle injury. Status for Sunday still unknown. Ben Roethlisberger wants to play Sunday and I’ve been told that structurally his knee is fine. Whether Mike Tomlin lets him play is another matter…

I’m hearing that both Maurkice Pouncey and Mike Adams could be back sooner rather than later.

Tweet of the Day #1. The Steelers’ Marcus Gilbert has an opinion on the NFL telling DeAngelo Williams he can’t wear pink shoes all year to honor his mother…

Tweet of the Day #2. No description needed.

The win in San Diego was the Steelers’ first on the West Coast since they beat the Chargers in 2005.

Cam Heyward earned a rating of +9.8 for his performance against the Chargers from Pro Football Focus. While certainly not gospel, PFF does pretty good work. David DeCastro and Kelvin Beachum also earned high marks as well.

With yesterday’s activation of Martavis Bryant, the Steelers released Ross Ventrone. Not going to mince words here; I know he’s dealing with a hamstring issue but he’s still more valuable than Dri Archer and appears to be equally as valuable as Brandon Boykin in my book. More on Boykin coming this week.

A guy that had an excellent game Monday night for the Steelers? Roosevelt Nix. Made several huge blocks and also made a terrific special teams’ tackle of Jacoby Jones.

Happy Hump Day Steelers Nation!
