SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 7/26/16

Welcome to Tuesday Steelers’ Fans.

In case you missed the latest Le’Veon Bell news hang onto your seat. Bell claims he missed his drug tests due to the fact he changed his cell phone number. Fine. Let’s say that’s the case. He’s still obligated to inform the league of such a change so even if this is the case the tests are still failures. Again, this comes down to a complete lack of accountability and maturity. Will the suspension be lessened because of this? Perhaps but I’m not betting on it.

SCB contributors Chris and Ben took different approaches to Le’Veon Bell’s appeal chances.

In a completely unsurprising bit of news the NFL has determined that Peyton Manning did not use PEDs as was reported in an Al-Jazeera Sports documentary. Manning could have videotaped himself injecting PEDs and the NFL would have still said, “There’s no credible evidence.” I’m guessing James Harrison is on line one Mr. Commissioner.

The Browns got some good news. Josh Gordon’s suspension was lifted and he will serve a four-game suspension. During that stretch however he will be allowed to be around the team as part of his continuing rehabilitation. Can’t believe I’m saying this but if I’m a Pats’ fan, I’m pissed. This guy screws up multiple times and gets this accommodation while Brady is not allowed to have any contact with the organization. More subjectivity from the NFL.

Tweet of the Day… I agree!!

Bengals’ fans are just as adamant about making this a rivalry as their players are. This is pathetic.

Very sad to see that ESPN’s Tom Jackson is not returning. He was not always favorable towards our Steelers but hey, not everyone can be. Jackson was the only sense of normalcy and professionalism on that show and he provided really good football analysis. In essence, he was one of few reasons to watch ESPN on gamedays.

More good stuff coming from us at SCB this week as camp begins. Follow us on Twitter @SCBlitz and on Facebook.com/steelcityblitz.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
