TGIF Steelers’ Fans! Every day is a day closer to the Black and Gold being back on the gridiron!

When you’ve been on social media as long as many of us have you tend to meet a lot of people. One such individual is Chris Nicolaou who will be joining the SCB Crew as a contributor. He brings experience from numerous sites and a level head which is often required in this business. Chris will be writing on fantasy football and of course providing his take on all things Steelers. Follow Chris on Twitter @Cnic__. That’s two underscores if you’re keeping score at home! Welcome aboard CNic!!

Make sure you catch up with Matt and I on the SCB Steelers’ Fan Podcast sponsored by BodyTech Gym. We covered a lot of stuff and of course had some laughs too.

Thoughts with those in Nice, France today. No one person has the answer to what is going on in the world today and I certainly don’t. What I do know is that we must open our eyes and realize there is much more happening behind the curtain than we could imagine. I’ll leave it at that.

The Steelers will honor Hall of Fame inductee Kevin Greene in Week Four of the NFL season. The Steelers host the Chiefs that day. Incredible stat of the day about Greene? He played in 48 games for the Steelers and recorded 34.5 sacks.

SCB contributor Ben Anderson tweeted out the other day that the biggest issue with a new deal for Steelers’ All-Pro guard David DeCastro is the total guaranteed money as opposed to the amount per year. Kelechi Osemele was given a massive $60 million contract by the Raiders with just over $25 million guaranteed. That $25 mill is the issue.

Tweet of the Day… Blast from the Past

Cowher’s hat still cracks me up.

Have you seen that offered deal for Von Miller? Six years and $114 million including $70 million guaranteed! He proved he was a difference-maker last season but man that’s a ton of money for a linebacker. Then again, the cap keeps growing rapidly doesn’t it?

Former Steelers’ linebacker LaMarr Woodley said this week that “if the phone rings I’ll be ready.” I feel pretty confident that any call that comes won’t have a 412 area code.

Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!
