SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 4/6/16

Wednesday has arrived… Hope it’s more downhill for you than up.

Jim Wexell at Steel City Insider had an interesting article about linebackers yesterday. He argued that most of the Steelers’ best outside rushers have been guys with an ‘edge.’ In other words, they weren’t the nicest guys. Noah Spence seemed to be the motivation for the article. He was the former Ohio State linebacker troubled by drug use who eventually transferred to Eastern Kentucky. Little to argue with Wexell about here with one exception; Spence’s problem isn’t that he can be abrasive like Greg Lloyd or Joey Porter, it’s that he made poor choices. Big difference in my mind.

Here’s Chris’ take on Boise State Safety Darian Thompson.

Looks like James Harrison will be back in 2016. He responded to a tweet from Ramon Foster by saying “it’s looking good.” As hard as he is training I’d be stunned if Harrison wasn’t back.

Bengals’ Head Coach Marvin Lewis says that the team “will bury the 2015 season on April 18th.” Anyone else get a chuckle out of his?

Tweet of the Day… This is a great pic of DWill.

Some Patriots’ fans are suing the NFL to get their lost draft pick back from DeflateGate. Where do I even begin?

Not that it’s the ‘be-all, end-all’ but Mel Kiper has Clemson cornerback Mackensie Alexander falling into the second round. He was a guy who was once thought to be a top ten pick.

Best wishes to former Steelers’ fullback Will Johnson who has signed with the Giants. Real good guy and I wish him well.

Have a great Wednesday Steeler Nation!

I keep looking at this draft and the truth is it’s thin. But if i were to wish for something to happen it would be for Jack Conklin to slide a little bit down the board. Then use the rest of the draft on DB’s and maybe a D-lineman.
