Happy Monday (if there is such a thing) Steelers’ Fans!

Chris has been busy. Check out his “Dream Mock” which is outstanding.

Chris and I also have unveiled our first round mock draft selections 9-12.

Ohio State Head Coach Urban Meyer said this weekend that whoever drafts quarterback Cardale Jones is going to “have to be patient.” He further said that Jones “wasn’t good at school.” While Jones would be far from the last NFL player who wasn’t “good at school,” those comments still worry me. Being an NFL quarterback requires a lot study each and every week. Granted, that can be far more exciting than an English Literature class but the point is that good study habits are good study habits regardless of what you’re studying. Jones is thought to be a potential mid to late round pick.

What you have to keep in mind with the Steelers in round one is that more often than not they go with the classic BPA or, “Best Player Available.” This is often why it’s so hard to get a grip on exactly what they’ll do this year at 25. As is the case in many drafts, some teams ahead of the Steelers will reach and some will go QB higher than they should. The result is players who the Steelers think would already have been selected are suddenly available. Examples in recent years would be Bud Dupree and David DeCastro.

Tweet of the Day… Good stuff from Dale Lolley on the son of a Steelers’ Legend.

Brian Hoyer is an intriguing possibility for the Steelers as I wrote a few weeks ago. With few teams left in need of starters, could he be the veteran back-up the Steelers really desire?

I am 100% on the bandwagon that says the Steelers will grab two cornerbacks in this draft. Just makes too much sense with it being this deep.

Have a great week Steeler Nation!
